At Fairmont Area Schools, we focus on preparing our students to thrive today and excel tomorrow. At the end of the day, we want our Cardinals to step into the world after they graduate with integrity, excellence, and purpose. What we teach our students and the spaces where they learn are equally important. Over the past two years, we have worked through a detailed process to understand, identify, and prioritize our facility and educational needs.  

In November 2025, we proposed a single-question building bond referendum that residents did not approve. We heard our community, continued to gather feedback, re-evaluated our identified needs, and reconsidered how those needs could be addressed since that time. We reprioritized the proposed improvements, and our school board is now considering a two-question plan that allows our residents to consider core health, safety, accessibility, and infrastructure improvements separately from educational space improvements.
